- Fellowship training from UCNS-accredited program required

- Work with a team of 7 neurosurgeons, 7 hematology/oncology physicians, 4 radiation oncologists, and several APPs
- Must be open to mentoring and teaching Neurology residents and medical students
- Neuro-oncologist would have clinic at the Cancer Institute with appropriate staffing and access to Infusion Rooms. Practice in a multi-disciplinary setting with biweekly Brain Tumor Board and a strong support from all hospital services
- Neuro-oncologist would become a member of our future multi-disciplinary neuro-oncology clinic and would have clinical collaboration and back up coverage with hematology/oncology physicians

- The U of I has a strong focus on neuroscience with a variety of research projects: from cognitive neuroscience study of human learning and memory to several imaging projects at Biomedical Imaging Center at Beckman Institute. This includes MRI and molecular imaging (PET/SPECT/CT) labs that can support imaging research for humans, animals, and materials

About the Neuroscience Institute:
- ACGME-accredited Neurology residency program
- As a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center from DNV Healthcare, provides comprehensive services including Vascular Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroradiology, and Neuro-interventional services
- Neurosurgeons perform awake craniotomies for resection of brain tumor, stealth neuro-navigation, operative microscopy, intra-operative ultrasound, neuro-monitoring and fluorescence guided glioma resections. Spinal fusion is available for patients with metastatic disease to the spine
- Radiation Oncology has state-of-the-art technology with Varian True Beam linear accelerator with the most sophisticated beam shaper (micro-MLCs) offering a very conformal delivery of radiation therapy to brain tumors with avoidance of the normal brain tissue. The radiation oncology/neurosurgery team routinely performs cone based stereotactic radiosurgery for patients with trigeminal neuralgia and base of skull tumors

- The compensation range for this position is $420,000 – $440,000 plus comprehensive benefits package for team members and providers
